Re: Fire blamed on D&S

I agree with Kevin, any logical reader can tell that Mr. Romeo has an axe to grind against the D&S by asserting and making the assumption that the settled payments between the D&S and the USFS were due to the D&S's reluctance to own to their potential role in the fires when in reality those payments tell the reader, NOTHING of the sort. Having just read some of those figures, I can't imagine having to pay those fees as billed by the USFS while trying to make a profit among all the other expenses, so, of course, it is going to be settled with both parties. Furthermore, the title of the article is extremely misleading. I have yet to read a line in the article that states for a fact that the "taxpayers" are paying for half of the forest fire fees. More sensationalist writing, IMO.
