Cuyamel Fruit Company, Vaccaro Bros - Standard Fruit and the benevolent octopus United Fruit Company ran railways there, with UFC absorbing the other two eventually. Trujillo Railroad out of Puerto Castilla had a 149 mile main and with branches was 233 miles. Cuyamel operated the 42gauge" "National Raiload" for the government out of Puerto Cortes. I've seen photos of those railroads but was never really interested in them, Costa Rica and Honduras looked the same to me.
