Gerald M. Best visited El Salvador prior to 1960 and published many views and an account of his trip in Central Amercan Holiday, Pacific Coast Chapter R&LHS in 1960. Book goes on to explore Guatemala and Mexico with many loco pix and contemporary rosters. It's a favorite of mine.
