Pretty much what I do, Radar, without having reset ANY options -
On the 'Message List' page, go to the last thread listed that has a red flag, click on it and read the topmost flagged post, and then (skipping un-flagged posts) click on the 'next message' option. Sooner or later (quite often MUCH later) I arrive at a 'Message List' page on which no threads are flagged. I.E, start at the last flagged thread and click on 'next message' until you get to the top of the list.
