After cutting off from the rear of the train, 483 backed into the wye to turn before getting water and heading back to Chama.
For some reason I didn't get a shot coming out the west end of the shed. I wasn't thinking, I guess.
After the air test, 484 headed east, 483 headed back to Chama. We headed down to Los Pinos. I climbed through the fence and went down to the tank, forgetting to change the lens on my camera. An 85-205mm zoom was pretty useless here....
at least there was no urban development in the Los Pinos Valley yet....
Then it was off to Antonito. Dad was not about to drive his new 1976 Ford station wagon on a gravel road to Osier and Sublette. I wouldn't get into those places for a few years yet. So it was off to Antonito for lunch, a trip up to Alamosa to see if anything was left there, then back to Antonito to catch 484 sailing into town.
Rich rolls 484 east at the crossing out by MP 282.5 The truck belonged to an employee who came out to the flag the crossing. Nowadays you'd pay BIG money on a photo charter to get a nice vintage truck to park at a crossing...
