The Iron Knob Tramway was a private railway here is South Australia that used BO-BO G8's, they started out as pretty little locomotive with an attractive paint scheme.
They were rebuilt in the following years, the first mod gave them more cab headroom, clearances weren't an issue on that railway.
A big rebuild in the early 90's saw them fitted with 645 series power plants and modern control gear, but they became instantly ugly.
A recent repaint into a livery you Americans may see as familiar did improve their lines, a bit!
