German railway guns in WW II

German railway guns were used in WW II, notably at Anzio in Italy. Two Krupp K5 guns of 28 centimeter caliber, approximately 11", were used to fire on the invasion beaches at Anzio. The Allied soldiers nick named them Anzio Annie and Anzio Express. One of the guns is on display at Fort Lee.
