Ah-yup -

The FIRST freight of 1968 was the so-called 'Mad Dash' of May 28,* all the way from Alamosa to Durango in one long day (I presume there was a van-facilitated crew change in Chama), which had no corresponding eastbound freight. The June 4 freights from Alamosa and Durango to Chama, and from Chama to Alamosa and Durango on June 5, were the first "normal" operations of 1968.
