Recently saw this video, that appears to say the rebuilt ET&WNC track through the Doe River Gorge is threatened by a trail plan. I know most of the standard gauge East Tennessee RR has been removed back to Johnson City. It's likely that a trail plan over that right-of-way would want to extend into the scenic gorge. My understanding is the gorge area is privately owned, thus would require some sort of eminent domain proceedings or non-payment of taxes to be lost. Anyone know more?

For those who haven't seen them, these excellent videos show the ET&WNC from pre-WW2 to the end in 1950.
