Here are two websites that you can look at for museums and other rail heritage sites:
The Association of Railway Museums lists its members on its website. Go to its website and then select Membership - Find a Museum on the left side selection bar. You can search by state. When the search you will need to scroll down the page as the search menu is at the top of the results.

At the TRAINS Magazine website there is a listing of railroad attractions. If you have not been using a Klambach magazine website you may have to register.
