Tennessee Valley Railroad in Chattanooga is excellent. www.tvrail.com They have steam rides and displays. Tweetsie Railroad in Boone, NC is excellent with steam powered tourist train complete with cowboys & indians. The railroad museum in Duluth, Ga. is called Southeast Railway Museum. Loco 290 and 750 are displayed there. It is faily good. Short ride on Sat. & Sun.Locomotive & Civil War museum in Kennesaw just north of Atlant is excellent. The "General" from civil war chase is on display asa are a few rare Glover Locomotive Works locos.Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tn. also has White Pass steam locos operated on 5 mile mountainous route. They offer cab rides in the loco (just go to the water tower and ask crew, but go early as rides fill up quickly). This is a fun adult park, not many exciting rides for kids.Tweetsie and Dollywood are narrow gauge trains! The North Carolina Transportation Museum is very good.
