In my previous post I neglected to say that the Monterey & Mexican Gulf was standard gauge, as was the pictured Rogers 4-6-0 #14. That engine appears to be identical to the well known Sierra Ry #3. The Prescott & Arizona Central had three locomotives numbered #3. The first #3 was also a Rogers 4-6-0 (c/n 3815-1887) that was ordered by Thomas Bullock as M&MG "Governor Zulich" and subsequently changed to P&AC (first) "City of Prescott" before delivery. She was sold to the Atlantic & Pacific #99 (Santa Fe) in 1890. P&AC second #3 was a Rogers 2-6-0 (c/n 4202-1889) that was ordered by Bullock as M&MG #5 "Linares" and this order was changed to rename the Mogul "Emerito de la Garza" and changed (again) to P&AC #3 (first) "W. N. Kelly" and arrived in December 1889, She worked on the P&AC until November 1890 and was then sent to M&MG as #17. The third P&AC #3 Rogers (c/n 4493-1891) was also named "W. N. Kelly", but was incorrectly lettered "W. N. Kelley" by the builder. This third P&AC #3 is the locomotive that became the well known Sierra Ry #3.
