SFAIK, the only non-Silverton operations on the narrow gauge after August 31, 1968, were
:
1. The filming of Butch & Sundance near Durango and the subsequent move of #473 (as U.P. #478) to Alamosa on October 9th and 10th, 1968
2. The filming of Good Guys & Bad Guys near Chama, for which #483 traveled from Durango to Chama & back, mid-September to mid-October.
3. The National Park Service inspection train, pulled by #483 from Durango to Chama on November 23 and Chama to Alamosa on November 24.
4. The "Hospital" move with #481 dead-in-train, the coaches used for NPS train, two or three carloads of engine parts and tools, and a couple of
empties for additional braking, which was pulled to Chama on December 5 by #473 with #483 as helper. #473 continued on to Durango with
the train while #483 and one caboose returned to Alamosa as the last D&RGW move over Cumbres Pass on December 6, 1968.
SFAIK, any cars not sold to the C&TS in 1970 were scrapped wherever they were sitting as the lines from Chama to Durango and south to Farmington were torn up during 1970-71.
