Yes. It was my creation. 19 needed a paint job and I was volunteered to do it. I don't think there was any great inspiration for it. I just thought it made a good combination. I didn't want to make a Rio Grande ripoff. That was back when I thought the C&TS should have its own identity. So, there it is. It only operated like that for a couple of years. Then someone forgot to drain the water from it one fall. One engine leaked enough water to save itself. The other engine was tight enough that it froze and cracked the block in several locations. All of this was about 1988 or so. Eventually, a couple of CAT D17000s were found to be donors for parts and 19 got fixed about 1991. It then got painted D&RGW Ripoff Black.
