Here are some specs on the SVRy Mikes: Baldwin Mikes 16, 17, and 18 had 42" drivers, 17x22 cyl., 95,000 lbs on drivers, engine light weight 110,400, tender lt. wt. 31,511, working press. 180lbs., TE by ICC form. 23,137. Alco-Schenectady Mikes 19 and 20 have 44" drivers, 19x20 cyl., engine lt. wt. 92,000, tender lt. wt. 74,000, working press.170, TE by ICC form. 23,700,. I think I have heard 19 and 20's TE quoted as somewhat higher so are there other common methods of calculating TE that give higher #'s? The above figures are from a spec. sheet drawn up by Earl R. ? in 1947 who was chief engineer for the SVRy at the time. The sheet gives specs on many of the railroads locos. I am indebted to Bob Bergstrom for sending it to me this Spring. One small disparity I notice is that the plate on the backhead of 19 says working pressure 175 rather than the 170 shown above.
