I'll bet the MOW folks are looking forward to the end of season so they can take advantage of whatever relatively good weather they can to put in some uninterrupted work to keep the track in tip-top shape. When I was on the C&TS a few weeks ago for the 1st time in 22 years, I was glad to see the track in far better shape than on my previous visit. I also saw track maintenance going on, and the Fireman / Engineer School train I was on even set out a car full of ties, I'm glad they're not resting on their laurels, track that good doesn't stay that way by magic.
