The C&TS wiggles around so much it's easy to get dis-oriented -
The two locomotives in the photo above are actually headed north-northwest at that point. The location is not as far north of the crossing as I remembered, on the west side of the track (left side going upgrade). My first one (passenger) was taken near there also, camera pointing north or north-northeast. My second one (freight) was farther from the crossing, camera pointing southeast.

p.s. Here are a couple of photos taken from Roger's Rock back in mid-June of 2008 showing #315 at Coxo crossing and then a little beyond. There's a mound just above the open gon in this shot that's probably the one you're referring to

There's another mound farther upgrade from the crossing and much farther from the track, above and to the right of #315 in this shot
