Looks good to me -
I like the first one, and this cropping thereof, because the engine peeking out from between the trees catches my eye, and because the length of the train is a mystery – it could be twenty cars, for all anyone who didn't know the C&TS could tell. And of course the absence of the open gon in the first one doesn't immediately give away the fact that this is a modern-day tourist operation, not a really busy express from 75 years ago (ignoring the color of the coaches, of course). IMHO, the cropped version also emphasizes the rock formation a lot more than either the uncropped version or photo #2 – it's unfortunate that cropping & enlarging made it appear more fuzzy.
