Whenever I have made a mistake or accidentally added a duplicate post I have done two things:
    1.  Edited the post by replacing all text and any links with just four words, "DUPLICATE POST - PLEASE DELETE."
    2.  Sent a private message to the staff referencing the revised post and repeating its message.

This has always resulted in the erroneous post being "disappeared", usually within a few hours and at worst after a day or two.
