At the risk of prolonging this discussion, let me say this: Mr. Droste has a theory about the Como depot that neither he nor anyone else can prove or disprove. Like Smitty I find his theories mildly entertaining. But his comment that the guys at Como are building a "train set" is over the top. If the Como restoration is a train set then so is the Sumpter Valley and WW&F. Granted the Como operation is small, but so were the others in the beginning. Sumpter Valley started operations with an unfinished depot and about 500' of track. I suspect the WW&F had about the same. Both of these operations made do with what was available, and built on that into a restored, operating railroad. I fully expect Como to go the same way.
So let Mr. Droste have his say, and if it offends you don't read it. But if Mr. Droste would like to visit the SV or WW&F he can see what such a "train set" can become.
