The Farmington branch has mostly been eaten up the the cities from Aztec on into Farmington, Though there is a number of artifacts along the way still to be found, if you know where to look. I have explored most all the line, and know most all the spots and trackage positions. If I'm available on the days that you want to do the Farmington Branch, I'l be glad to act as a guide for the day. Let me know.
Most all of the line is readily accessible by common car, or on foot. The location of "Carbon Junction" is a easy walk just on the outside of Durango, and a lot of the ROW has been gobbled up by development until you get out of town a bit. From there the ROW turns into county road for a ways. The water tank at Bondad is about to fall down, and is on private land, and access is across posted private land. Hwy 550 parallels the ROW most of the way, and has eaten up segments along the way from south of Bondad into Aztec.
