When Greg gets this production finished it will be a "must have" for everyone. It was shot on 16 mm film and it almost looks like moving scanned 35mm slides, it is that clear. The detail is fantastic.
There is a lengthy sequence shot in May of 1963, just when "Rio Grande Land" was in its infancy. That still shot of 473 is noteworthy. It has been freshly shopped, painted and crowned with a diamond stack. However, because she still has the job of the Durango Switch engine, she still has her footboards on the pilot. Note the front number plate with the red background. that only appeared on 473 and 478 in 1963. Note the scaffolding by the depot building as it was too getting spruced up. There are shots of new track being laid to realign the turning loop so the Silverton Trains could be more easily turned. Good stuff..
