That's what I should have done a couple of nights ago, Earl -
The old film
'Danger Lights' - filmed on the Milwaukee Road back in the 1930's - was on Turner Classic Movies. Most of the RR scenes - and the accompanying sound - was pretty good, but the plot and acting left a LOT to be desired – I should have muted the sound when there was no RR action. And there was at least one RR scene that didn't pass muster, even with a foamer like me
: During a "life-saving race to Chicago", the hero/engineer notices a hotbox on the trailing truck, climbs down from the cab to pull some burning waste out of the journal box, and the flames subside – all while supposedly running at about 90 mph. A few minutes later, the same train pulls into Chicago, apparently without stopping to change engines – but now the wheel of an inside-bearing trailing truck shows beneath the cab

p.s. See Bill Ramaley's post at [

'Danger Lights' – and a few other old movies with railroad action.
