jfengineer 50 started out as a 42' first class Pullman on the D&RG and had wood siding and a conventional clearstory roof. After she was sold to the URY it was modified into a private car. Some time in the teens or twenties she was shortened to 33-1/2' and modified into a combine. I believe when they did this they added steel to the frame as reinforcement. In 1934 she went into the shop again and was again modified with a different roof profile and steel siding.
