All of the 4-8-4s are coal burners. Three are painted tn standard passenger green, and two are in Trans Sib blue. Oil burners are at the museum/shop in St Pete. All of the dozen or so that operate out of the Moscow museum/shop are coal burners. The Other shop down south near Krasnodar and Rostov only has between 3 and 6. They are the heavy backshop Other Russian cities also have their "pet" These are usually a class L, 2-10-0s or a large, ugly class E, 0-10-0. Just a wild, but conservative guess, but there may be around 30 serviceable locomotives in the program.
As a side note. All three shops have a class 9P 0-6-0t shop goat. .
