. . . and it hadn't yet been added in the really old photo that Chris posted showing the two-car passenger train on the bridge - apparently en route from Alamosa to Salida - and the eastbound train on the Marshall Pass line below.

IIRC. the cut at the south end of the bridge was further dug out when the connector track was added; there's a house on the connector r.o.w. now, just to the west of the old Valley Line,* and lots of 'NO TRESPASSING' signs in the area.

Added 4:30 pm pst - You can see the roofs of the house and garage on either side of the connector track in the post by cdaspit below.
