On account of they're for the crews out of Chama, not Durango or Alamosa. IIRC, the Kiwanis excursions usually left Alamosa around 8:00 am, and got to Durango later and later in the evening as the years progressed from 1962 to 1966. The last eastbound out of Durango in '66 left at sunrise (7:00 am?) to compensate for several slow orders, as shown in these dimly lit shots

Also, I don't remember the Kiwanis excursions that usually ran the weekend closest to the end of September / beginning of October ever taking an extra day to run down to Farmington, but I didn't ride the '65 Kolor Karavan – which may have traded weekends with the Illini Club or the Rocky Club, one of which did do a four-day instead of three-day trip at least once.
