The term "Pullman Truck" has two meanings on the D&RG(W)...
1) a truck built by Pullman (with Pullman on the pedestals) and...
2) "Pullman Truck" was the D&RG(W) term for the wood framed (with iron/steel clading), pedestal passenger truck that the D&RG developed about 1881 (based on drawing in the CSRM collection) for the coaches they started building in house. Eventually they replaced the earlier trucks on their passenger fleet with this in-house built truck. The term is used extensively in the ICC valuation note books (CRM collection). This is the truck that would be upgraded with the cast outside side bearing truck bolsters in the 1920's.
What is not clear to me is the history of minor upgrades to this design... over time D&RG(W) added cast braces to the truck to strengthen it... other trucks got similar but flame cut angle braces.
