Passenger car trucks

January 06, 2017 11:46AM
With all of the building of new D&RG narrow gauge passenger trucks going on now, I was wondering about the history of the 5' wb. composite truck.
It started out as a fairly light weight build in the 1880s and over the years were reinforced with heavier corner braces. and the addition of the "flying" bolster with the outer bearings. What I would like to know is what years did these changes take place. Any help is much appreciated.
