The 492 and 496 not only had dual gauge couplers for Valley Line work but also auxiliary water lines set up for use with W499. Here is photo from a WB Film but rights now owned by Greg Scholl showing the water connected. W489 and other water cars were used on the Valley Line over the years. This is no different than the auxiliary water cars on the Rotaries.
