On the OY the right injector is plumbed to the water car and the left injector draws from the tender. The section line for the right injector is attached to the pipe running down the side of the rotary tender. That pipe connects through another flexible hose to the water car. I imagine the OM is set up the same way. Both injectors were used. The left side one was smaller and could not keep up when OY was being run hard. So the program was to start the left one and fire like mad while the other guy worked on starting the right injector. Getting it to prime up and suck water all the way from the water car, up a 4% grade was a good trick. Once you got it primed and running, the left injector was shut off and the right hand one run until you lost about 10 lbs of steam. Then you shut the right one off, started the left one again, worked on firing against that injector to get your steam back up. Once you got her hot again, you started the procedure over again.
