Nice shots! The good old days, after my departure in 1980 and before my return in 1986.
The only place the interstate changed the railroad at Silver Plume was the approach to the yard and the yard itself. the original yard was about where the interstate is now, with the current SP exit/overpass approximately at the original station location. The railroad was always on the south side of the creek at SP.
The shot of the high bridge from the high fill actually shows the Hall Siding and Hall Mine (Tunnel) site. The mine stop is further up-grade and on the north side of the creek.
Good shot of the old platform (Georgetown end) as there is very little evidence of it today.
The foot bridge next to the pin-truss bridge is long gone. We used to stop here on the down hill run and let folks off to take pictures of the engine on the bridge.
Always enjoy seeing photos of No. 8 in operation...what a machine!
