Hi,
I can never keep it straight (forgive me for the errors), but the section of the Tennessee Pass line through the Royal Gorge is not longer UP - UP has trackage rights (or something like that). The Ashby's GTL operation went (or expanded) there as a SG operation. Ashby's operation is the tourist train and there is a short line for freight.
Off Topic, I like your initials. I liked my visits to the Dairy Queen for ice cream. Later when the Braiser was added, we could sit and eat dinner at the Amwiler Road crossing on Southern and wait for the daily northbound passenger train (until about 1975 there were two northbounds - The Southern Crescent [left Atlanta in the evening] and the Piedmont [left about midnight it was often a diesela nd a few cars up into South Carolina where it picked up more locos and a string of TOFC/COFC northbound]).
Thanks for triggering pleasant memories of the early 1970's.
