Denver Federal Center

Don't forget 491 spent time at the Federal Center in Lakewood. It was moved from Alamosa to Lakewood then eventually CRRM. The Federal Center held the locomotive there for some time until the museum was ready. I forgot how long it was in Lakewood and we once tried to locate it from 6th Ave but no luck. The CRRM did this one more time that I know of when it asked Coors Brewery to hold onto a SG Rio Grande diesel locomotive (number escapes me) and it is still there waiting for the museum to be able to take it on the CRRM grounds. This SG locomotive was discussed on a very recent NGDF thread.
