Actually it is not only true but absolutely correct. The D&RGW gave locomotive 491, a caboose and several freight cars to the Colorado Historical Society for the Georgetown Loop project. While the cars were movedto Silver Plume (where they remain today) it was fairly quickly determined that 491 was too large to clear the rock walls alongside some parts of the line. 491 was left in the Alamosa roundhouse until 1985 when it was moved to the Colorado Railroad Musem for display. The CHS gave the locomotive to the museum several years ago.
