Can't disagree more. Non-foamers don't care what colors are used on the buildings and other equipment, so there's *no* harm in using historically accurate colors. And while foamers are the minority of people who ride the train, we do spend a considerable amount of money on charters and merchandise. In addition, foamers tell all our non-foamer friends to ride the train (and sometimes even bring them along on our trips).
And yes, you math is off by a lot. The line was built in 1880. D&RGW (and its predecessor the D&RG) owned the line for 90 (?) years and the states have owned it for 46.
