Thanks, Mike and Jim and John. You've told us much more than I had bargained for when I asked. I'll update the caption of our photo accordingly. To the honor of Black Hills Central, which seems to have been a less than perfect host for this engine, I might add that these days the BHC appears to be a quite active enterprise with its 1880s Train, and they're into restoration of new old equipment (like a Weyerhaeuser Mallet; check their web page at www.1880train.com).
