Kind of late to the party...
The NSRM-BC owns tracks/right-of-way across the new freeway (mp 18.02). From there, the City of Henderson owns the the line down about 7 miles to mp 10.8 or so... The Union Pacific switches the Henderson owned tracks. The Museum has trackage rights on the Henderson tracks but would need an operating agreement with UP to use those rights.
We are now hiring an architect to design the new visitor center (one of three buildings on the proposed new museum campus) as well as doing a site plan (blocking out the location of the other buildings.... )
The complete plan included reworking our site from Yucca Street to Boulder Highway as a 1/2 mile long park with bike and walking paths, and interpretive signs, a new city street, parking, park amenities and such plus the new museum campus. We believe we have the funding for the park improvements. The attached image is the preliminary rendering of the new visitor center.
