Re: Nevada State Railroad Museum (Boulder City) to expand visitors center

For those who have visited the NSRM BC, this is great news. A new station is planned to be built along the lines of the Las Vegas Station art deco design. I have seen the drawings of this depot and it will be a great addition to the railroad. It will also house display areas and exhibits. We have needed this for a long time, and finally there is movement on the project. The current platform has not been adequate and there is really no place to display artifacts. Of course eventually, the EN 12 will have a proper place along with the other equipment. The pavilion is fine for displaying the larger artifacts that are currently on display but it is full. But the new facility will greatly augment the museum. I am really glad to see the project moving forward.

Also, with the Interstate 11 by pass we will once again have access to the outside world via rail. Anyone for a Railfair in Boulder City?
