I enjoyed meeting a few of the folks who hang out on this board during the National Narrow Gauge Convention. I was pretty busy at the WW&F, between braking on passenger trains a couple of days and preparing for and participating in the riveting demonstration on Thursday afternoon. There sure were a lot of folks around the WW&F, at least during the time I was there last week. Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves as we tried to show them what narrow gauge railroading was like 100 years ago.
In just a few weeks, the WW&F will hold its Fall Work Session, when the switch will be built and new track laid at Top of the Mountain, among other things. It's very possible that the turntable will be in position by then, also a matter of great interest. And we just received word this evening that a bequest of $18,000 has boosted the 21 Campaign for new boilers for No. 10 and No. 11 to over $43,000! When we hit $50,000, we should be able to order plate and get started on the boilers.
