I sure wish I'd known how accessible the movie scenes were from Ridgway when I was there.

I saw True Grit and the sequel Rooster Cogburn as a young feller here, I was captivated by the scene at Chimney Rock and the Aspen-ringed meadow. Imagine my surprise rounding the curve on a back country By-way one trip and the deja vue feeling sweeping all over me.

Having been exposed to many photographs in Railfan, Trains, Rail Classics etc of seemingly inacessible locations in the vast expanse of the West, by the time I travelled the US and found to my amazement, that 9 times out of ten the photographer had just stepped out of his car on some widely travelled road.
