Machine shop converted from belt driven steam to belt driven electric in 1957. Shut down in 1969. Virtually all of the machines were restored, or deemed to be restorable, by volunteers John Weiss and David Hamilton and so operate today. David and John have made masters using these machines for a number of parts cast by C&TS for use in the passenger car trucks and other parts on the NG and have used these belt driven machines which date from around 1913 to do it.
Very proud of all of the work that David and John do for the museum and the Friends and the C&TS.
