The K-36/K-37 swap between Alamosa and Salida occurred in late 1950 and early 1951, just prior to the abandonment of the Valley Line between Salida and Hooper. 484 and 488 stayed in Alamosa. 480, 481, 482, 483, 486, 487, and 489 went to Salida. 487 came back to Alamosa first, sometime in 1953, if I recall the history correctly. The rest followed later, except for the 485, which fell into the turntable pit in Salida, ironically not long after its overhaul at Salida. A lot of its parts wound up on 489, the last locomotive overhauled by the Salida shops.
