Hi Greg,
As I said, the announcement is confusing. You get to pick one trip each on Friday and Saturday, as far as I can tell from reading the announcement, so I assume they think everyone is going to chase the Sunday trip to Cumbres. My guess is if you really want to ride, you would be able to purchase a ticket at some nominal price, or if they sell out, they may just say it's free. Don't quote me on that part though!
So, as I see it, everyone gets to see the same runbys, except for Friday morning, when you will either be riding the Geese from Antonito to Osier or riding the 315 from Chama to Osier. After that, everyone gets the same runbys from Osier to Cumbres. The dinner train Friday is part of the package.
So, as I see it, you get three train rides, with the chance for two days of runbys with the 315 and Goose #5 and Goose #7 and you can ride or chase the #463 dinner train and ride or chase 315 and the two Geese from Chama to Cumbres on Sunday, plus there will be two, count 'em two, night photo sessions. Oh, and dinner is included on Friday, lunch at Osier on Saturday and lunch at Cumbres on Sunday. All this for $759. I almost expect to hear the TV announcer saying call now, operators are standing by!
