Probably the best place to begin research on the D&RGW narrow gauge passenger car fleet is to get the pair of Colorado Rail Annuals on the subject: Nos. 24 and 25. No. 24, "A Ticket to Ride the Narrow Gauge" looks at the entirety of D&RG / D&RGW narrow gauge passenger service; No. 25, "Rio Grande Narrow Gauge Varnish" is a detailed look at the rolling stock.

To the best of my knowledge, combine 215 was not used in the cupola configuration on the Silverton branch.
