Back to the Uintah #30: as this 2-8-2 was on the Utah side of Baxter Pass, she was seldom photographed in action. The #30 was scrapped on the west side of the pass near Rainbow, UT. I acquired several Uintah builders plates (#21 0-6-2T and #30) years ago. My notes on #30 say that her tender became D&RGW W-499 in 1939 and later (1962) was used as tender behind Rotary OM. Attached is a F.A. Kennedy photo of the #30 with a train load of sacked Gilsonite at Rainbow, UT and the builder's plate for this engine.
