Hi, all you railroad buffs. I need some help with this photo. I was given very kindly given this scan of a train wreck. I am trying to find out when and where this happened What I know is that the handwriting is that of Catherine Hendricks. She was the wife of Edward Hendricks, one of the original homesteaders in Riverside, NM. The Denver & Rio Grande Western Farmington Branch station was named Hendrix station after the Hendricks'. Catherine talked about this wreck to her children and grandchildren. The creek that the locomotive is lying in is too narrow to be the Animas River. I have talked with the wonderful folks at the San Juan County (NM) Historical Society. They don't have any info on a wreck in the county. I have found nothing on Google. I have assumed it was the D&RGW but there is no record of it. If anyone has any ideas, I would appreciate it and so would the Bonds family (Hendricks family)
