John & Kevin; I wonder how many people realize the amount of thought that had to go into the design of that engine ?? Your description makes
me want to stop by and see it sometime. And, yes,
I think it would be appreciated by all reading this thread if you managed to post some pictures
of that unusual engine and valve gear.
The Walscheart gear used a combination lever that
was connected to the crosshead and the radius rod.
It fastened to the valve stem below the radius rod for inside admission and above the radius rod it for outside admission. The item you talked about probally took care of that function.
I'm going to be away from this site for a few days. The kind are having a couple of parties
for my birthday. They are having a reception this afternoon at the church so my local friends can drop by. Tomorrow we hitch up the trailer and go
about 250 miles North to the oldest daughter's farm for a Birthday Party. Sat will be my 90th BD.
