The ex Cedar Point loco now at Disneyland is the Maude L, a Baldwin 2-4-4T Forney, formerly from the Laurel Valley Plantation. It's a near twin to the DRR #3 Fred Gurley, formerly Godchaux Sugar.
The rebuild of this locomotive was stalled when the parks carousel needed a complete rebuild and most of Imagineerings efforts were put behind this project. I understand now that the "Maude L"
project is about to start up again, and maybe in a year or two she'll be steaming again, with a different name. Sources say it'll be rechristened the "Ward Kimball." Disneyworld had a Davenport 2-4-4T named after him, but it proved to be too small for Florida, and too big for the California park. It was traded to Cedar Point for the "Maude L".At this time the Davenport has not run at the Point. It is sitting inside the enginehouse, waiting to be converted back to a coal burner when the need arises.
