Mr. Hogan was listed in the 1920 census as Alonzo A. Hogan and his job was listed as working in the Gunnison yard. When he moved indoors I don't know. The 1940 census showed that he owned a $4,000 house. He was a high school graduate. His wife Ruth had two years of college.
His next-door neighbor was W.S. Gilmer, the Gunnison round house foreman. Mr. Gilmer had a $7,500 house so looking after the locomotive might have meant more money.
